Candles and Chakras
The candle’s flame has always been a metaphor for the soul! It possesses a tranquil and almost hypnotic atmosphere
to those who allow its power to take them to a very special place.
A candle acts as a “self-object”. A self-object is an object that is a reflection of our self, a reflection upon which we can act. The candle reflects the spiritual and ethical changes we would like to bring about in ourselves. It burns as a reminder and symbol of our desires. Many cultures have always believed in the power of fire, color, candles, and meditation for health. The practice of burning candles and living in the soft, calming light of natural fire is good for the soul. Anointing candles and burning them is a way to send your prayers and hopes into the ether of the universe.
Sometimes we have to hand our dreams over to a force more powerful than we are.
There are many ways to utilize the power of Candle Therapy. Candles are great for meditation. Along with the upward movement of the flame, the wax is burned which consists of many elements of health. The aroma of various essential oils mixed in with the wax can evoke healing properties naturally occurring in your body. The many colors that candles come in are helpful for balance which stimulates the brain to produce different healing hormones. These complementary systems with candle therapy are all configured and intertwined within the practice of its theory and application. . Use the seven colors of the Chakra and light these small candles to release the color into the room. Burning candles unite the powers of mind, body, and spirit. Candles have been used for thousands of years to light our homes and celebrate our traditions. The candle reflects many spiritual and ethical changes we would like to bring about in ourselves. We burn them as a reminder and symbol of our desires. The fire takes our dreams out to a force more powerful than we are.Find a space to use on a regular basis for “your” space. Doing this, conditions your mind to become familiar and therefore feel relaxed once you are in the space, as it allows you to ascend. In time, just sitting in your space will immediately relax you.Your space can be a small area in your home where you can sit with your eyes closed for at least a few minutes each day. Choose a clean, quiet place away from all distractions where you can sit on a chair or on the floor. If you use a chair, choose one that allows you to keep your back as straight as possible. If you sit on the floor, you may want to lean your back against something so that you can keep it straight.Whatever area you choose to use, you first want to cleanse/clear that space.Space clearing can be done on a physical level by de-cluttering your surroundings. It can also be done on a metaphysical level with such tools as herbs, salts, crystals, incense, oils and yes, intention. The rainbow colors have an amazing healing power when lit all together.Energy in itself is the vital source, which radiates from everything and everyone around us. When we are ill, emotionally upset, angered or imbalanced, our moods and of course, our energy is altered. Coming in contact with energy that is negative can often be sensed, even felt. The result is often a feeling of uneasiness, confusion or an opposed feeling to our current state of mind. Cleansing your space with a candle is a way to use both fire and scent to clear a room.
Cleansing a room with your candle can be done by first stating your intention. Why are you cleansing this space?
Adding herbs or essential oils to clearing can give an added bonus to cleansing. Herbs such as lavender, sandalwood, tea tree, thyme, and rosemary are all good compliments. When using herbs, massage some essential oil on the candle, then rub the herbs on the candle. Light your candle and you can either walk around your space with it, clearing out the corners or place the candle in a holder and allow it to slowly penetrate the room.
There is a wealth of fragrance found in nature – pure flower and plant essences with the power to revive or soothe, heal or protect. These Chakra Energy Pillars are infused with essential oils selected for their aromatherapy benefits relative to balancing each chakra.
The Chakras are said to be “force centers” or whorls of energy from a point on the physical body, the layers of the chakras form an ever-increasing fan-shaped formation (the fans make the shape of a love heart).Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning spinning wheel is a traditional Indian medicinal concept that refers to a center of spiritual energy visualized as a wheel or lotus flower that resides in the human body. They are a system of seven primary energy centers located along the spine. Each chakra corresponds to specific regions of the body and different emotional and behavioral characteristics. The seven primary chakras are also associated with specific colors and symbols. Chakras are considered the focal points for the reception and transmission of energies. Chakras are believed to facilitate the exchange of energy between the world and the human ethereal self. Chakra candles are made with colors and fragrances believed to resonate with and enhance specific chakras and are typically lit during mediation for this purpose. There are seven principal interconnected chakras that are aligned along the spine. Each is associated with a color, element, and body part, and is thought to govern certain emotions and states of being. For example, the chakra Vishuddha, located on the throat, is symbolized by the color light blue or turquoise, associated with the element ether, related to the thyroid gland, and is believed to influence communication and self-expression. A chakra candle representing Vishuddha would be light blue or turquoise and used to repair, maintain, and enhance the throat chakra or improve communication. When chakras are out of alignment or closed, physical, emotional, and spiritual imbalance is believed to result. An individual suffering from a liver or stomach disease or who has developed excess rage or anxiety could be advised by an alternative medicine practitioner to repair and align Manipura, the solar plexus chakra. Chakra alignment can be done by a professional practitioner or via various other means, including using meditation and chakra candles. The correct use of chakra candles is dependent upon an understanding of what each of the seven principal chakras represents and controls.
Seven major chakras or energy centers are considered ideal and they are represented by different colors.
he chakras are formed at the junction of three connected energy shafts that ascend the spine, one on each side of the central channel, the Shushumna. The two lesser channels of energy — the Pingala on the right and Ida on the left — run parallel to the spinal cord. Chakras both take up and collect prana (life force energy) and transform and pass on energy. Our material bodies could not exist without them for they serve as gateways for the flow of energy and life into our physical bodies. Each chakra is associated with a certain part of the body and a certain organ which it provides with the energy it needs to function. Additionally, just as every organ in the human body has its equivalent on the mental and spiritual level, so too every chakra corresponds to a specific aspect of human behavior and development. Our circular spirals of energy differ in size and activity from person to person. They vibrate at different levels relative to the awareness of the individual and their ability to integrate the characteristics of each into their life. The lower chakras are associated with fundamental emotions and needs, for the energy here vibrates at a lower frequency and is therefore denser in nature. The finer energies of the upper chakras corresponds to our higher mental and spiritual aspirations and faculties. The openness and flow of energy through our chakras determines our state of health and balance. Knowledge of our more subtle energy system empowers us to maintain balance and harmony on the physical, mental and spiritual level. All meditation and yoga systems seek to balance out the energy of the chakras by purifying the lower energies and guiding them upwards. Through the use of grounding, creating “internal space,” and living consciously with an awareness of how we acquire and spend our energy we become capable of balancing our life force with our mental, physical and spiritual selves.
Chakra candles combine color therapy with aromatherapy and are a great way to enhance energy healing sessions and meditations. The color and fragrance blend of each candle are designed to enhance specific healing energies.

In order for us to become fully self-realized and in harmony with our physical and spiritual nature our denser lower energies need to be harmonized with the lighter energies of the upper centers. This is to say our survival and base tendencies have to be raised to incorporate a heart-felt spiritual focus expressed in all areas of our being. Indeed, each of the upper-level energies corresponds and refines a lower level counterpart: 7th with 1st, 6th with 2nd, 5thwith 3rd. In the center of our being is full integration into the heart. Each center has an integral function in creating our energetic balance. It is through the study of our energetic and physical being that we can create health, emotional stability and spiritual bliss.

Use chakra candles to bring greater focus to your energy healing work. Cleanse and balance the chakras often to promote wellness in body, mind and spirit.
Chakra candles are usually used in a peaceful space reserved for meditation. The candles that represent the target chakras are lit and the resulting perfumes are inhaled deeply while entering a meditative state. During meditation, chakra candles help maintain focus on a particular material or spiritual goal or on healing. An individual who has been hurt emotionally may light a candle representing the Anahata chakra and focus on releasing pain and maintaining an open heart. Unlit chakra candles can also be presented as offerings to sacred images. Chakra candles can be purchased individually or in sets or handmade. To make a chakra candle, chunks of small emergency candles can be melted with pieces of wax crayon in the desired color. When the wax is like pudding, a few drops of the desired essential oils can be added, and the wax poured into a candle mold that has an anchored and centered wick. A long toothpick should be periodically dipped into the wax while it is drying in order to release any air bubbles. Once the candle is dry, it can be released from the mold, the wick trimmed to 0.5 inches (1.27 cm) above the wax, and any uneven surfaces smoothed out with the flame from a lighter.

Meditation is thought to increase health through calming the mind, body, and spirit allowing the natural ability of the body to cleanse and rejuvenate itself. People who meditate just 15 minutes per day are happier and healthier. It’s a good time to care for yourself. We need to spend more time to make ourselves stronger because we tend to spend most of our energies caring for others.
We choose a quiet place where we will not be disturbed for at least 15 to 30 minutes. We can choose to meditate for longer or shorter periods of time according to your own preference. We choose a length of time that you feel comfortable with. We choose your goal or focus for the meditation session. For example, you may choose to meditate on inner peace or healing. We may desire to focus on romance or being successful in a particular endeavor. We choose a candle or candles appropriate to the goal you wish to focus on during the meditation period. We sit in a comfortable position, than light the candle(s) and begin your meditation.Circle meditations vary in length but may be expected to last less than an hour. The circle meditation begins with a brief allegorical candle lighting, emblematic of the coming of light. This has the psychological effect of fixing our attention on where we are and what we are doing. It takes about 1 minute. The purpose of this meditation is to radiate love and healing energy into the world. This is the place where you cease to be a passive student and begin to use your knowledge and energy to assist in the broader purpose of improving the world you live in.
The candle lighting is followed by the intonation of traditional vowel sounds. These musical chants are employed to open the charkas and vitalize the energy channels.
The vowel sounds are followed by the first meditation. This is a passive meditation; the meditation of the type generally done most places.
We begin by preparing the circle. We need seven chakra candles of different colors: green, yellow, red, blue, orange, indigo and white. We are placing the chakras Candles in the circle setting us in the middle of the circle. We set the rut chakra candle down, Finally, crown chakra candle of the top. Slowly and mindfully light the candles, grounding yourself and establishing your intention for your meditation.
The room should be free from all distractions. If possible, remove or at least turn off all technology. You want to remain completely undisturbed by electronics, interruptions, machine sounds, and so forth. If you are in a noisy city, simply do this to the best of your ability. Plants, flowers, rocks, animals (cats!), birds, and so forth are welcome visitors.
Now we step inside your circle and take lotus pose.
Now sit in meditation. Breathe slowly and deeply. Allow your mind to drift into a dreamlike, open, relaxed state.
If you wish, you may envision yourself filling up with white light, driving out all negativity. You feel healthy, refreshed, empowered, peaceful, and loving towards all beings.
Next, we thank the energy power of each chakra. When you have thanked them, you can snuff out the candle for that chakra. Do the white one last of all.
Then feel confidence, relax, and open yourself to the angel’s healing presence for as long as you like.
When you have finished, thank the Divine source of cosmic energy . Feel gratitude for the healing, love, compassion, and comfort.
Sit with this for a few deep breaths, and then return to your life relaxed, refreshed, and feeling the healing power of the angel with you.
