You and your favorite Color

Almost everyone has a favorite color. Even if you don’t think you have one, you’re probably still more naturally drawn to some colors more than others. We all have our preferences — that’s just how human beings roll.

Colors play an important role upon the minds of men and women and different colors mean different things to different people.

The most popular color in the world is blue, and it’s also the most popular color for men, everywhere in the world, to wear. (Women, on the other hand, mostly prefer wearing black.) Statistically, yellow isn’t preferred by many, with only five percent of people claiming it as their most favorite color, and apparently, as people get older, they start to shun orange.

Whether we’re a vibrant Orange, or a peaceful Blue, our color preferences are a key to understanding our personalities. Find out what this color expert has to say about your favorite color. What does it reveal about who you really are?

White: Symbolic of purity, innocence and naiveté, white has strong connotations of youth and purity. If you are an older person, your preference for white could indicate a desire for perfection and impossible ideals, maybe an attempt to recapture lost youth and freshness. It may also symbolize a desire for simplicity or the simple life. People who like white are often organized and logical and don’t have a great deal of clutter in their lives.

Lovers of white tend to be innocent, pure, and perfectionists. They are confident, but might have very high standards regarding cleanliness. Your love for white is also symbolic of openness and fearlessness. You tend to have very strong ideals. A preference for white is an indication of a person who feels a sense of absolute freedom, believing there are no barriers to achieving their goals and that the world is full of possibilities. White doesn’t put anyone off, but it also reveals little — beyond this basic characteristic of optimism, it can be attractive for a whole variety of people.

If you’re Favorite Color Is White…

You are: Innocent. (Or at least you think you are.)

White embraces innocence, virgins, and is the favorite color of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s character, Daisy Buchanan, a woman who wanted to create a perception that wasn’t entirely true. Those who favor white want to convince others (and themselves) of a purity they likely just don’t have. They’re also really meticulous in their appearance, unlike the rest of us who would never be able to keep our whites white.

Red: The color of strength, health, and vitality, Red is often the color chosen by someone outgoing, aggressive, vigorous and impulsive—or someone who would like to be! It goes with an ambitious nature but those who choose it can be abrupt at times, determined to get all they can out of life, quick to judge people and take sides. Those who love red live life to the fullest and are tenacious and determined in their endeavors.  Red people are usually optimistic and can’t stand monotony; they are rather restless and not at all introspective, so they may be unaware of their own shortcomings. They find it hard to be objective and may blame others for any mishaps. Quiet people with a preference for red may feel the need for the warmth, strength and life-giving qualities of the color, or they blanket their true feelings under a sober exterior. Red is usually chosen by people with open and uncomplicated natures, with a zest for life.

Interestingly, it’s also been found that a preference for the color red increases for women when they’ve reached peak fertility in their menstrual cycle.

People who love red tend to be passionate, but one needs to steer clear of them sometimes because they could also be short tempered. Lovers of red tend to be easily angered but also loving, courageous and fiery. If red is your favorite, you will let nothing come between you and your road to success.

Red is an arousing color, having an effect on the brain which helps to increase blood pressure and quicken the pulse and breathing. A love of red indicates that you’re a purposeful, even aggressive person. You are: Bold, sexually charged, and want to make a lasting impression.

Studies have also found that both genders are more attracted to a person in red than any other color. Although scientists aren’t exactly sure why, they think it may have to do with the fact that when someone blushes they turn red and there’s some sort of animalistic, sexual attraction there. People whose favorite color is red are usually aware the effect it has, and are extroverted and confident enough to take advantage of it.

Maroon: Harsh experience has probably matured the Maroon person into someone likable and generous. It is often a favorite color of someone who has been battered by life but has come through.
